SPRING FEVER

Every February we get spring fever so bad that we get in the car and drive south. We left Thursday night and drove to St. George. We stayed overnight, took the kids swimming (outdoors, at 930 am) went shopping, went to lunch at Applebees (steak for Nick and fruit for Ben) and then drove to Las Vegas to Brittney's house. She let us stay for 2 nights. The kids had so much fun. They were disappointed when they found out her community swimming pool was closed but forgot about it when they saw the Xbox. (yes, they stayed inside and played video games all day) Jeff went golfing and I got a pedicure while Brittney entertained and spoiled my kids. Toys for everyone. We did a little shopping (mostly looking) and ate out a lot. We went to Mandalay Bay and saw the sharks. The kids really liked that, especially Will. On Sunday night after Brittney left for work we got in the car and planned on driving to St. George, but stopped in Mesquite because Will woke up and did not want to be in the car anymore. Of course Ben woke up at 6 am and would not go back to sleep. So after Nick woke up (a very long hour later) we had breakfast at the hotel and then went swimming again. We all had a good time, but Ben was in heaven. The first morning he got in his bag to get some clothes and pulled out some shorts. He said, "finally you let me wear some short sleeved pants". Nick likes to swim, but his skin and eyes get irritated by the chlorine, so he is usually done after an hour or two. I think Ben would stay all day. His eyes are always red and I think he drinks A LOT of pool water (yuck) but he is never ready to go. It was a really short trip but was so nice to get away for a couple of days and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. It is always hard to come home to a snow storm, but better than not going at all.

Can you believe it? That is why I don't have any good pictures. Never again.
